lullaby for a birthmom

i first saw this on the birthmom buds facebook page a week ago, i posted it on My facebook adoption support page and since then it has gone viral on my friends' facebook walls. probably because its most definitely worth seeing and hearing. the best way to ensure that it is seen and heard and touches the hearts of birthmothers everywhere, is to post it 'everywhere', so i feel the need to post it here too.

Michael Pearce Donley's tribute to birthmothers. "Birthmoms are heroes," Michael says. "and it's time they had a song to honor them." This was recorded live on January 30, 2010, a few days after it was written. This was part of a performance called "Laugh for Life" as a benefit for New Life Family Services.http://www.michaelpearcedonley.com/

My Favorite is a poem, that was turned to a song, From God’s Arms, To My Arms, To Yours... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvLp4sIamMo

I do love the one Amanda mentioned. I'd have to say one that I seem to relate with most right now though, as a hopeful adoptive mom, is Kellie Coffey's "I would die for that". You can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqfGqOx2iDQ

It's called "Dear Jane"- It's written by an adoptee for her birth mother.

Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls. It was written for a movie, but if you listen to the words it is just haunting how much it can be applied to adoption from the Birth Mothers side!
